50 Stars, Thirteen Stripes

The flag of these United States symbolizes strength and unity - and is front and center at all of our nation’s biggest moments.

Doug Landry - Founder

50 Thirteen was founded by Doug Landry, who brings more than 15 years of experience at the intersection of political campaigns, progressive organizations, global event production and logistics.

Doug has led event production efforts on four campaigns for President. He brings a national network of political relationships, detailed knowledge and deep experience working with local jurisdictions to achieve successful outcomes for candidates and causes.

Recent projects have included events for Fetterman for Pennsylvania, Barbara Lee for U.S. Senate, Heartland Alliance, Giffords, & Fight CRC.

In-house projects for 50 Thirteen have included “Advance Camp,” a two-day training conference that drew a cumulative 2,300 aspiring political events professionals to Washington DC at our two editions in 2019 and 2022. Another favorite in-house project was the “Granite Express” - an “airline for a day” to transport the media directly from Iowa to New Hampshire during the 2020 primaries, which successfully completed its single 2 a.m. flight from Des Moines to Manchester….right on time.

For the 2020 Biden campaign, Doug led a team of talented colleagues to produce the President’s first trip to Iowa, his victory party in the South Carolina primary, the “drive in” fireworks celebration concluding the Democratic National Convention in Delaware, the post-debate Amtrak train tour through Ohio and Pennsylvania, and the full final day of the campaign, culminating in a Lady Gaga concert at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh.

As a White House Advance Associate during the Obama-Biden Administration, Doug managed dozens of teams that planned and executed trips for then-Vice President Biden around the country and globe. Doug was tapped by the White House for diplomatically sensitive and logistically complex visits to including Iraq, Pakistan, Kosovo, the UN General Assembly, the Munich Security Conference and the US + CARICOM Summit in Trinidad & Tobago.

In private business since 2010, Doug created and produced “Challenge Nation,” a 35-city annual tour of 5K-style race events across America that operated from 2010 to 2016 and before Covid, produced five large-scale music, food & beer festival events annually in the DC area, which have drawn more than 65,000 attendees since 2014.
